Macquarie University Health is seeking a General Practitioner to join our new Macquarie University Doctors student bulk-billing clinic on campus. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a brand-new service delivering convenient, affordable and high-quality general practice care to Macquarie University's diverse student community.

We are recruiting for 1.0 FTE, this could be filled by one full-time GP or two part-time GPs, offering flexibility to suit your circumstances. The position is permanent, with the option to join Macquarie University Health as an employee, providing access to various leave entitlements and employee benefits.

Working within an innovative academic health sciences centre, you will not only provide excellent clinical care, but also have the opportunity to supervise and train medical students, GP Registrars and other Doctors in Training. You will collaborate with colleagues across Macquarie University Health to contribute to primary care research and educational activities, playing an integral role in advancing the academic mission of the organisation.

About the Role

Based within the Macquarie University Doctors clinic on our Wallumattagal Campus, you will provide bulk-billed general practice services to eligible Macquarie University students. The clinic delivers a broad scope of primary care services including general health consultations, mental health support, chronic condition management, sexual health and contraception, preventative care, vaccinations, minor injuries and infections, skin conditions, and allergies and asthma management.

Key accountabilities include:

• Providing high-quality clinical care to patients of the Macquarie University Doctors student clinic across a broad scope of general practice presentations
  
• Delivering bulk-billed general medical services to eligible students, including those with Medicare cards and approved OSHC providers
  
• Liaising and working effectively with health professionals involved in patient care, including the broader multidisciplinary care team
  
• Creating and maintaining accurate documentation and electronic medical records to reflect clinical decisions, tests, diagnoses and instructions
  
• Supervising and mentoring medical students, GP Registrars and other Doctors in Training to standards required by Macquarie University, the RACGP or other relevant training authorities
  
• Collaborating across Macquarie University Health to participate in primary care research projects and contribute to educational activities

About You

You are a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is passionate about providing accessible, high-quality primary care to a diverse student population. You bring strong clinical skills, a genuine interest in teaching and supervision, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic health environment. You are committed to evidence-based practice, continuous improvement and contributing to a culture of safety, quality and innovation.

Selection Criteria

• Current Specialist General Practitioner registration in Australia with a fellowship with the RACGP or equivalent
  
• Demonstrated experience as a General Practitioner, with an interest in or experience providing healthcare to young adult and student populations
  
• Demonstrated interest and aptitude for one or more of the following: supervision of students, delivery of educational activities and/or primary care research
  
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders including patients and other health professionals
  
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
  
• Knowledge of and commitment to continuous improvement, evidence-based practice and promoting a culture of safety, quality, innovation and best practice in clinical practice, teaching and research
  
• Understanding of bulk-billing processes and a commitment to delivering accessible, patient-centred primary care
